At Lake Region Therapy Services, our
primary tool in treatment
of pain is a therapeutic technique called Myofascial Release or MFR. MFR is a
gentle hands on technique
directed
at fascial restrictions to eliminate pain and to restore motion.
Fascia is a tough connective tissue that
is spread throughout the body. In its normal healthy state, the fascia is
relaxed and wavy in configuration. It has the ability to stretch and move
without restriction.
When fascia loses its flexibility, it becomes a source of tension and chronic
pain.

Injury such as a
fall, whiplash, surgery or the lack of normal motion that often accompanies
arthritic conditions has a cumulative effect. Tightened fascia can exert
pressure that produces pain and headaches leading to further loss of normal
movement causing more pain. This “vicious cycle” is often the source of chronic
pain for which medication provides only temporary relief.
Standard tests such as x-rays, CAT scans, electromyography, etc., do not show
the fascial restrictions. It is thought that a high percentage of people
suffering with pain, headaches, and or lack of mobility may be having fascial
problems but many go undiagnosed.
MFR is not
chiropractic and it’s not massage. As practiced at Lake Region Therapy
Services, MFR is a comprehensive treatment that returns the fascia to its
natural state allowing your body to heal. Gentle exercises speed your recovery
and help to make the process a solution to your pain rather than just a
treatment for it.

Lake Region Therapy Services helps you protect your company's most valuable
asset--Your Employees! Lake Region Therapy Services delivers solutions to
Employers and Payers that drive down the cost of injury and disability in the
workplace. From Post Offer of Employment Testing (POET) of new hires to managing
functional recovery and return to work, our clients are saving thousands of
dollars each year.
Post Offer of
Employment Testing (POET):
Lake Region Therapy Services utilizes
BTE's POET Program
and
Isernhagen's Pre-Work Screens
to assist employers in reducing injuries on the job by improving the
screening process for new hires. Developed specifically for
each employer and their jobs, Isernhagen and BTE’s POET program has consistently
delivered substantial savings to clients across industries.
Lake Region Therapy Services is the only clinic in the area
utilizing BTE Technologies’ EvalTech™ / ER System. The POET
testing is reliable, defensible and compliant with governing
regulations. Lake Region Therapy Services offers employers a
validated, legally compliant POET program that delivers a strong
return on investment; an investment that is grounded in the improved
health and safety of employees as well as a return on the bottom
line.
Functional Capacity
Evaluation:
Objective, reliable measurement of function
following injury or disability can change
the course of treatment and the
effectiveness of early return to work
management.
Lake Region Therapy Services utilizes
bothBTE’s EvalTech™/ER™ functional demand
assessment technology and their proprietary
FCE process. Initiated early in the
lost time claim, the FCE can establish and
document the residual capacity of the
employee post injury and compare the post
injury function to the physical demand
requirements of the job. In addition, the
FCE detail can be used to identify and
target specific physiological deficit areas,
which can be beneficial to the treating
provider on medical treatment direction and
intervention. The FCE plays a critical role
in the case and claims management of
individuals who have time away from work or
require documentation of residual function.
Ergonomics/Work Station Analysis:
We spend approximately thirty minutes per
person going over all the risk factors of
their work site. In addition, we provide
tips, exercises and training on ergonomics
as it applies to you. Lastly, we make
corrections on the spot to the workstation
and document those changes that we are
unable to make but recommend. At
completion, each employee is SMARTER,
working SAFER and the corporate goal
of an INJURY FREE workplace is well
established.

Lake Region Therapy Services is one of the very few facilities
in our community that offers specialized lymphedema treatment by Certified
Lymphatic Therapists.
Lymphedema is a swelling of a body part, most often the
extremities. It may also occur in the face, the trunk and the abdomen.
Lymphedema is a result of an accumulation of protein-rich fluid in superficial
tissues, which can have significant pathological and clinical consequences for
the patient if it goes untreated.
Early stages of lymphedema may be temporarily reduced by simple
elevation of the limb. Without proper treatment, however, the protein-rich
swelling causes a progressive hardening of the affected tissues, along with
recurrent cellulitis, and possibly fungal infection.
Lake Region Therapy Services offers a range of treatment methods
to our lymphedema patients, including:
·
Manual Lymph
